Calder Race Course hosts live Thoroughbred racing April 21 through January 2 annually. Located only 2 blocks North of Dolphin Stadium on the Dade-Broward county line, Calder's signature events held on Saturdays include the Summit of Speed (July 12), the Festival of the Sun and Florida Stallion Stakes finals (October 18) and the Florida Million (November 8). New to the schedule this year is the Turf Million on April 26 which will feature the best grass horses in the country. Gates open at 11:30 with the first race about 12:30. Catholic Hospice is a community-based not-profit program serving the community since 1988. For more than twenty years, Catholic Hospice has been providing end-of-life care to terminally ill patients and their families throughout Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, and recently expanded its services into the Broward community. They provide pain control and symptom management, as well as spiritual and psychological support to more than 240 patients and their bereaved family members daily regardless of race, religion, age, gender, ethnic background, handicap, diagnosis or financial resources. Catholic Hospice is a community-based not-profit program serving the community since 1988. For more than twenty years, Catholic Hospice has been providing end-of-life care to terminally ill patients and their families throughout Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, and recently expanded its services into the Broward community. They provide pain control and symptom management, as well as spiritual and psychological support to more than 240 patients and their bereaved family members daily regardless of race, religion, age, gender, ethnic background, handicap, diagnosis or financial resources. Catholic Hospice provides care for patients in any residential setting: home, nursing home, assisted living facility (ALF), hospital, or wherever a patient calls home. |
